Your Excellency, I’m incredibly humbled and grateful for the guidance and opportunity you gave me to serve our people!

This afternoon at State House Entebbe, I received Mr. Atul Khare, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Operational Support, and his delegation, who paid a courtesy call on me. We discussed matters of mutual interest and reaffirmed Uganda’s continued cooperation with the United Nations in promoting peace, stability and development.

I had a pleasant meeting with my brother, H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Egypt, at State House Entebbe. We discussed strengthening Uganda-Egypt relations in the areas of trade, industrialisation, renewable energy, fish farming and water resource management. I shared with him the need to support large-scale fish farming as a way of protecting wetlands, creating jobs and helping our people transition from subsistence agriculture to commercial production. We also discussed the importance of electricity and manufacturing in driving socio-economic transformation. We further exchanged views on regional peace and stability, emphasizing dialogue and African cooperation in resolving conflicts.

I welcome H.E. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to Uganda. I look forward to our fruitful discussions aimed at strengthening the long-standing cooperation between our two countries and advancing the interests of Africa as a continent.

The United States congratulates Yoweri Museveni @KagutaMuseveni on his inauguration as President of Uganda. The State Department’s African Affairs Senior Bureau Official, Nick Checker, represented the United States at this event. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Uganda to advance shared goals, including shifting from aid to trade and investment, supporting regional peace and security, and preventing dangerous disease outbreaks through sustainable health systems.

This Kisanja should be regarded as a Kisanja (term) of “no more sleep for all Ugandans.’’

Habari nzuri Woote? Mungu asifiwe (apoyo Rubanga, yebazibwe Katonda). Congratulations on the series of elections that we have been having ever since the 15th of January, 2026. These were: the Presidential, the Parliamentary, District Chairpersons, District Councillors, Sub-County Chairpersons and Sub-County Councillors. I, especially, congratulate our party, the NRM, for winning all those elections with big majorities. I also congratulate the other parties such as the DP, UPC, etc., that participated in the elections without using violence unlike the Party of NUP and some few elements of FDC, that were using violence. The parties under IPOD should clearly lay out agreed guidelines on the dos and don’ts of election management, according to the laws and the constitution of Uganda.

After a full day of engagements in Entebbe, I proceeded to Speke Resort Munyonyo with Natasha, where I hosted Their Excellencies and other distinguished guests at a State Dinner ahead of tomorrow’s swearing-in ceremony. I welcomed them to Uganda, a country strategically located at the centre of the world and naturally positioned as a regional hub. From Munyonyo, our guests were able to experience the beauty of our country, our pleasant climate and the uniqueness of our geography. I thank them for honouring our invitation and for the solidarity they continue to show Uganda.

I have received my brother, H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan, at State House Entebbe together with his delegation, ahead of the swearing-in ceremony tomorrow. I warmly welcome him and wish him a fruitful stay as we continue to strengthen the historic brotherly ties and cooperation between our two countries.

Our brothers, ANC, in South Africa have built 3.3 million housing units (or RDPs as they call them) for the most disadvantaged slum/township dwellers since 1994. We can at least do 1,000,000 housing units in 10 years.

Godbless Uganda! Our country is destined for greatness! Muraregye.
