Happy to share that I’ll be starting my lab as a junior group leader at the Georg-Speyer-Haus in Frankfurt in 2026. We’ll study how transcriptional regulators control neutrophil function in cancer. I’ll be hiring soon (PhD/lab tech), pls reach out if you know someone interested!

@ewanbirney There’s a second layer I had to learn (and find other quant-turned-biologists I teach struggle with) which is to not overthink before trying something—that there are so many unexpected twists you hit the limit of what you can plan by thinking much earlier than you expect

@Philip_Goff I have no idea what you mean. We do as a matter of fact not use such an assumption. Just go and read any paper that makes predictions for electron cross-sections and see if you can find that they state "We now assume that electrons exist".
