@NicholasAngelUK@BROKENBRITAIN0@MerseyPolice Nicholas , it seems your aggressive manner to my observation is perhaps why you are just a special ( or so you you say ) and not a regular.
Control my boy control.
🚨 A FEMALE BRITISH POLICE OFFICER CALLS A MAN A 'NONCE' FOR FILMING IN PUBLIC 🇬🇧
Officer 8614 of @MerseyPolice needs to be FIRED ⚠️

@_robo68@BROKENBRITAIN0@MerseyPolice How so? Merseyside SCs have SC written on their epaulettes she does not and the other officers there collar numbers also begin with the number 8..
@nuclear_copper Well it did previously exist as the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority Constabulary so in that case seemingly they were forgotten about
@NicholasAngelUK The constabulary didn’t come into existence until 2005. But the Energy Act legislation does allow chief officers from other jurisdictions to request/deploy CNC resources.
Walking the beat. It’s only a small beat though. The CNC’s jurisdiction is 5km from a licensed nuclear site. A lot of the time this is done in vehicles, but at power stations, site patrols are often carried out on foot.
@MPSSpecials@MPSSutton@MPSCroydon I take my hat off to anyone who volunteers (not @kent_police) but we cannot keep on relaying on specials. The Met needs full time officers out and about getting hands on. Specials are great but aren’t full time unfortunately.
@Jaymc_85@MPSSpecials@MPSWForest@MPSNewham Very pedantic comment. It’s from a specials account so pretty obvious it’s a S/SGT and you don’t see them often referring to regular sergeants as Police Sergeant / PS. They also use Sergeant
Shorthand in this instance is perfectly fine for those without a fragile ego to protect.
@MPSSpecials@MPSWForest@MPSNewham Nice community work 👍. Also correct term as in special sergeants as appose to Police Sergeants, We can’t get confused now.
Sergeants from North East stepping up and supporting local community event awarding medals to young players and bringing smiles all around Straight from frontline duties to frontline community True leadershipVolunteers at their best #NorthEast#CommunityHeroes#ServiceBeyondDuty
Today we ran a first between Kent SC and @MPSSpecials joining together on Op Partner to tackle outstanding offenders and priority policing taskings. We had officers crewed with their counterparts from across the border. Some great results and valuable knowledge exchange for us CF
Last night S/Sergeant Frost & S/Inspector Kobic from @MPSSpecials did a joint working duty responding to calls across Kent. Looking at the different ways that our organisations work and how we can work together with future joint operations to support each forces priorities -CF
@oldmantom56@SpecialsWMP Surely someone doing it unpaid and in their own time shows huge amounts of commitment? Especially given S/Sgts and above will often commit well over the minimum required
@SpecialsWMP Awful idea. Specials should not be included in regular management.
They have less training, less responsibility and most show up twice a month for an 8 hour shift.
They don’t need their own line managers, it never works
@sc_survey I’d ask that you continue, you’ve put out and maintained some really useful data that everyone in the SC is grateful for - those in forces where SCs are not treated so well can point to this data and leverage it for the better
I'm considering what to do going forward with this account. I could continue to advocate for Specials, but don't believe many are listening. Alternatively I can just walk away and leave it fallow.

Please excuse the recent silence, but due to a recent-ish injury I have been informed I will be unable to pass a police medical. Quite annoying as I was at the end of moving to another force having left my old one.

@oldmantom56@reggiesumbrella@Miles_PBH An SC and PC both hold the office of Constable and are equal so no you would not have authority of over a special chief officer… 🙄
@reggiesumbrella@Miles_PBH@reggiesumbrella that’s absolutely false. A special inspector does have powers of Constable but they have absolutely no authority.
The ranks carry no water with regulars.
As a regular PC I would have lawful authority over a Special Chief Constable, their ranks mean nothing.
@Ned_Donovan@hillsteetblue Great response Ned. I don’t understand the old us versus them mentality that it prevalent in some circles. Whenever specials attend a state 0 / emergency button the officer who wants help won’t be checking if the attending officer is a special or questioning if they’re really job
In tradition back out on patrol this evening for #NewYearsEve into the early hours 🎊🎆
Undertaking foot patrol around @buteparkcardiff and Cardiff City Centre before jumping into a van later to respond to #999 calls 🚓🚨

@Miles_PBH Genuine question.. is it common to have retained Firefighters in specialist roles. I don’t think it is. You’re standard response only as far as I’m aware… again happy to be corrected. But if they’re paying you lose autonomy. Not good for the SC
@NicholasAngelUK A lot to unpack here, many assumptions.
Seems to work well in the fire service, and other organisations too.
It’s good that you raise these issues though,
all risks need to be debated properly if the proposition is to be robust
Viscount Hailsham was once a Special!
Who knew!
He’s also of the opinion specials should be paid like retained firefighters.
Good to see specials in the thoughts of those in the houses, hopefully this will develop into wider debate and positive action! 👍🏼 #g1564.1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">theyworkforyou.com/lords/?id=2024…
