Sounds like I’m taking a shot at them but I’m not. I do find it extremely impressive how well Notre Dame has recruited the WR position with absolutely zero success developing them into the NFL.

Giving your insurance agency over to Claude computer use is just wild to me. Bragging about it loudly is even crazier. If you’re an insurance prospect, you should start asking the agents you speak to what their AI usage policies are.

If I were “for hire” today, I would change any/all titles I have to “GTM Engineer.” Not “ad agency.” Not “Fractional CMO.” Not “media buyer.” AI-native GTM engineer. Why? Because marketers study the market and the market wants these words now. Also, pay is 6-figs.

Stupid ads from people like Alex Hormozi push this annoying narrative that you have to scale your services business to reach self-actualization. You have to get “unstuck” from key man risk because you’re maxed out and too busy working "IN THE BUSINESS" rather than on the business, etc. You are stuck in this miserable world called "the swamp" where you're making great money but you still need more, more and more. You hit a dreaded revenue ceiling and life sucks. You're in jail with golden handcuffs. That is total bullshit. ☝️☝️ I talk to agency owners ALL THE TIME who wish they could trade places with me because: 1. I have minimal overhead. 2. I have unlimited flexibility. 3. It's a cash flow "lifestyle" business. 4. I can make my own schedule. 5. I can do whatever I want. Don't listen to all the nonsense.

This is to my Insurance Agency Owner friends but it honestly applies to anyone no matter their industry. If you're not careful, you're going to end up losing business because you can't stop thinking about AI. For context, I admittedly left my day to day role with my agency that paid extremely well and had plenty of upside to build insurance tech. Let this read as a "I've been there" type of message. AI is real and it's growing fast. ChatGPT launched less than 4 years ago. I open X most mornings and hear about "XYZ" industry being killed by Claude's newest release. I am seeing a lot of Agency Owners saying that they're maxing out their Claude tokens (now, that's a lot easier today than it was 2 weeks ago but that's a different convo 😅) Let me be clear... If you're maxing out your Claude Tokens and still crushing your agency life. This isn't for you. If you're maxing out your Claude Tokens AND your agency priorities are dipping then this is for you. AI will change the future of Insurance. It will also change the future of what Independent Insurance Agencies look like. That being said, AI is a tool in your belt. You should work to develop your skillset with your tools. When this comes to AI, sprinkle it in. Learn something new every day. But don't let the tool become the distraction. The agencies that win over the next 5 years won't be the ones who knew most about AI. They'll be the ones who stay focused on the foundation that they've built, what they've always been good at and those who add the right tools at the right time. At the end of the day, stay curious but don't allow yourself to drown in what's new.
