@JacobFeldman4 Seeing it in college sports too. Tickets to Ole Miss vs Texas face value now are $300+. Last year Ole Miss @ Oklahoma was $252 through the school. Same ticket in 2018 would’ve been $100-$120 at most.

I'm calling this Trickle Down Ticketing. Not 100% sure on the specific # s here, but we're seeing this across sports. Buying early/in pre-sale is not as important as it used to be for most events. Instead, ticket prices are being set high and then often coming down closer to gameday. That ensures the event keeps more of the revenue rather than re-sellers, even if it means fans—especially die-hard day 1 buyers—sometimes end up paying more. I learned all of this from a breakdown we published a week ago ⬇️

@OleMissRebel90 @CBsBReference Yeah, what Boyd's World normally does is show avg over top 3 seeds. Of course a good 4 can matter but i'd rather have a good 4 and teams 35 and 55 in RPI than a bad 4 and teams 17 and 33

@CBsBReference This is a poor way to determine the strength of regionals. Some of these got auto bid #4 seeds with losing records and RPIs 250+ which really drags the average.

@wpmcgee I understand you can’t do no rematches when teams play 10+ schools over midweeks but I do think it’s pretty easy to do no weekend rematches

- NC State not last 4 in is beyond perplexing. RPI in the 50s, 242 NCSOS, 5-11 Q1, 14-17 ACC composite. Reeks of a sentimental pick with Avent retirement. - Lipscomb going to Starkville after playing there in a series when they were within 400 miles of several sites. Come on.

Couple stray thoughts on the selection process. Probably be a couple tweets long. - Jon Gilbert obviously did zero work to help his fellow American team UTSA get in. American got 1 with the SBC at 5 despite being 7 and 5 in RPI respectively

@eagelgamie @travissigh I’ve got Ole Miss in the 17-20 bucket and USM at 13. If USM isn’t 13-16, then Ole Miss won’t travel there ha. Seeding through 32 isn’t exactly news

@NicholasCarr @travissigh You know nothing about baseball it’s clear. They are seeding the top 32 this year and pairing one seeds and two seeds that way you going to have to get on a plane to watch ole miss play

Final projection ahead of the selection show tomorrow at 11 am. Kentucky is last 5 in, but not all that close to missing the field. 5 SBC teams seems unlikely, and Troy played the toughest SOS out there + top 35 RPI.

@KendallRogers @HailStateBB A sec team has never not hosted with 0 Q3 and Q4 losses. A sec team has never not hosted with 40 wins and a top 16 RPI. Y’all were predicting something that’s never happened on two fronts and you were incredibly wrong.

No doubt the Hogs have a better overall body of work in my eyes, but @HailStateBB is several spots ahead in the RPI, which ultimately, was king in this scenario. I actually think MSU, with McPherson back, can be a national title contender, so ultimately no big issue.

@AggAckk It very much mattered if you say they had a, for example, 5 q1 win minimum. Top 18 teams all hosted except a team with 1 Q1 win and the other was below .500 in conference play
