Turkey’s most recent provocation and its military presence in Cyprus threatens one of our closest allies and the stability of the Eastern Mediterranean. For too long, Turkey has violated Cyprus’ sovereignty and territorial integrity with impunity. That must no longer be the case. The United States must stand with the people of Cyprus and make clear we will not tolerate Turkey’s aggression against our ally by demanding the removal of all Turkish F16s from Cyprus.

I had the pleasure of welcoming today, at the Ministry of National Defence, the President and CEO of the American Hellenic Institute @TheAHIinDC Mr. Nick Larigakis @NLarigakis, members of the AHEPA @OrderOfAHEPA Organisation and heads of Jewish-American Organisations, in the context of their tour in 🇮🇱-🇬🇷-🇨🇾. The importance of maintaining our channel of communication, as well as Greece's strategic role in the broader region, were highlighted during the meeting.

Είχα τη χαρά να υποδεχθώ σήμερα στο Υπουργείο Εθνικής Άμυνας τον Πρόεδρο και CEO του American Hellenic Institute @TheAHIinDC κ. Nick Larigakis @NLarigakis, μέλη του Οργανισμού AHEPA @OrderOfAHEPA και επικεφαλής Εβραίο-Αμερικανικών Οργανισμών, στο πλαίσιο της περιοδείας τους σε 🇮🇱-🇬🇷-🇨🇾. Κατά τη συνάντηση υπογραμμίσθηκε η σημασία της διατήρησης του διαύλου επικοινωνίας μας και ο στρατηγικός ρόλος της Ελλάδας στην ευρύτερη περιοχή.
