We're a team that loves movement shooters, and we’re putting that passion into EMPULSE, a brand new 6v6 movement shooter. @PaulTassi @Forbes I don't agree with everything, I can see why there is fear that Bungie won't be able to handle both games. “retention that remains at a high level, which simply isn’t true." This statement really depends on what someone at Sony thinks is high retention. We don't know that info.

kill a plat+ player in marathon and you will get a friend request after the game like 50% of the time

So, this is bad, just not in the way people think. Bungie/Marathon/Destiny didn't magically lose 769 million dollars. It's more like Sony drove the car off the lot, and the value tanked. Still not great, because this still does effect way more things than people are crediting.

Sony earnings: 88.6 billion yen/~$560 million impairment losses against Bungie. That is *in addition* to the previous $200 million

Not a perfect example (because Ubi), but Skull & Bones just got a year 3 roadmap for content. Another game with long development and a restart. But way less critical acclaim and a far lower peak. That to say: this doesn’t seem great. But who knows what actually comes of it.
