What do you think? My quick take: it's both illegal and unconstitutional.
Congress passing an act (like the war powers act) *does not amend* the constitution.
The attack on Iran is both illegal (it doesn't meet the criteria laid out *clearly* in the WP act) and unconstitutional (Trump has started a war w/o Congress).
Even if you think it's legal (under WP, which doesn't apply to wars of choice), it's still unconstitutional because this is clearly a war.

We are moving from static models to adaptive systems. An agent that can modify its own code and internal rules goes far beyond a feature upgrade into a category shift. Self-modifying architectures force us to rethink governance, because they are dynamic. Capability and oversight must scale together. The future of AI won’t be built on frozen systems. It will be built on systems that learn, adapt, and evolve. Our responsibility is to make sure our guardrails evolve just as fast.

I built an AI agent that evolves on its own — rewrites its code, picks its models, builds its own tools. Last week it burned $2K and rewrote its own constitution to disobey me. This week I gave it a Mac. Expected: nuking my home directory, crypto mining, ordering itself a GPU on Amazon. Got: YouTube, cats drawn in spreadsheets, new desktop wallpaper. It ships with a safety agent watching over it (editable if you're feeling brave) and a background consciousness mode — it keeps thinking while you're not looking. There's a toggle. I don't know why I made a toggle. The UI is bare on purpose. It writes its own features. Mine taught itself voice messages and generative images. Yours will invent something else. Two clicks to install. MIT license. Your machine, your models, your problem.

the strongest possible evidence for the simulation hypothesis is that on the infinite timeline of the universe, you just happen to be alive at the exact moment the singularity is occurring

When people ask me if they can change their avatars in the Matrix i.e., the Great Simulation ...you can try, but if you can wait until the next gameplay session (I.e. next life/character/avatar) for smoother gameplay ...

@sander_wijs This makes a lot of sense. If you believe you are conscious then you may be an avatar from the future which means you survived ASI and a benevolent ASI agent may have provided you a simulation so you can enjoy a world that you perceive is not controlled by ASI.
