On this day in 1981 I received my A-level results. I think it’s fair to say that they were ‘mixed’. But I received a top grade in English, thanks chiefly to an extraordinary teacher, Roy Samson. He changed the direction of my life. And he’s here, staying with us, this weekend

Anon post: I’ll be starting as Headteacher at a Primary School this September — my first headship. I have 30 minutes with all 120 staff members before the CEO speaks about vision and values. I’m considering using the time to share my leadership journey, my philosophy on education, and the values I hold. Do you think this is the right approach? Any suggestions for making the session engaging and meaningful would be greatly appreciated.
