So… I have a lifelong commitment to Naveed. He and I served in the same Task Force in the Afghan war. We managed to get him out of Kabul away from the Taleban with his family.. just. He’s being evicted from the property we found for him because the landlord wants to sell - fair enough. Is anyone interested in investing in a property in Plymouth? Valuations are done. I will be a guarantor for his rent - for ever. Have a think. He’s a great man who had nothing when he came here. His wife and kids are settled. I want to do all I can for him. Here's a D-Day thread from the New Forest... that involves oysters. If you look at satellite imagery of the Beaulieu River, you might notice a rather unnatural looking shape cut into the riverbank... Bit odd. 🤔 🧵

For those that don’t know - no spoiler - this is where the shipwrecked sailors came back from. Just incredible - a challenge now, but in 1760s 😳

Really good to be allowed into #Imber village on Salisbury Plain over Easter. 150 villagers were evicted in 1943 for Army training and it has been closed ever since. Some old buildings remain, along with graveyards. This, from the Baptist Chapel.

Coming to the end of short trip to DRC, #Goma. Really wanted to climb Mt Nyrigonogo but pesky armed rebels mean the park is closed. No chance to see the 🌋with the fastest flowing lava😳. This is as close as I could get.

Thank you to HM The King for the close interest in the well-being and achievements of @TheWelshCavalry over the 20 years as our Colonel-in-Chief. Our close connection with him will endure as we serve him diligently and loyally as monarch and Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief.
