Mission 70 on $ICP: Neuron holders with 57% of voting power have not yet voted. This is a democratic process. 75% of the supply is held by Humpback whales. The decision is in the hands of large whales/entities. However, every single vote matters. I’ve received a lot of messages from people upset that Jerry Banfield voted “no” on their behalf. There’s no need to get frustrated. As I often say, delegating your vote isn’t ideal for proposals like this as you don’t want others making these decisions for you. He may not be actively involved or fully informed. Or... he may simply feel that changing the tokenomics may not be the best outcome. In any case, now we have people that wanted to vote YES but effectively voted NO. I hope the community can learn a lesson and start voting manually for these sort of proposals. I am in favor of this proposal. However, as mentioned, this is a democratic process. I believe in a positive outcome. I have seen a lot of emotional reactions. You all know my opinion about emotions when investing. I am patiently waiting for the final outcome of this process. Once the results are in, we can comment. Until than, it is pointless to vent your frustration, anger or similar feelings. You make it sound like the decision has already been taken, while in reality not even 50% of the votes are in. Patience is key.

After $ICP dropped to $3, I started warning that the only viable path forward was to change the tokenomics. A few months later, the first M70 whitepaper was published. Since then, DFINITY has spent hundreds of hours working with multiple parties to refine the proposal and find the best path for long-term sustainability. With that in mind, I believe M70 will pass, and attempts from whales opposing it will fail. M70 is beneficial for ICP. It buys time for DFINITY, the Swiss Subnet, and Caffeine AI to drive more adoption. The client pipeline is already there. Government connections are already established. Public companies have already reached out. Adoption is coming over the coming months and years. Time is the key variable here. Sustainability should be the top priority. I support M70 and believe it will help. But let’s be clear, it won’t solve everything overnight. It gives the project the time it needs to grow, and I expect meaningful adoption within the next 6–12 months.
