Sunnyside Unified School District administrator Andy Townsend, a former longtime educator and youth basketball coach at Elvira Elementary School, sent me this photo of @LadyDevil_Hoops senior @NidezNayeli and @SahuaroBB senior @NickPonds0721 from when they were teammates at Elvira. Two very talented and special young people on and off the court. Their teams are still alive in the postseason. Proud they both come from the district in which I was raised and now teach.

Tucson Sahuaro HS 6-3 SR guard Nick Ponds is a good athlete and defender with good overall versatility as a player. A good prospect for a smaller college program or a Juco. An intriguing prospect in the 2024 Class with very good toughness. ⁦@SahuaroBB⁩
