Our office is moving to a new floor, and I discovered that meeting rooms became available for booking about 5 minutes before the email announcement went out. This must be how members of congress feel about the stock market.

How does @googledocs not have a way for a user to see all assigned comments to them? This has to be a heavily requested feature. Or maybe I’m the one with document sprawl…

I have been trying to buy internet from @VerizonSupport for two full days now. Apparently they don't work on sundays, and their website is so buggy my last order didn't actually work. Is Optimum any better?

I'm working with a professional editor now and my most recent blog post is getting absolutely decimated. It feels good, I don't know if ChatGPT will replace this:

@GergelyOrosz There’s another scenario here: Dev goes to make a startup and ends up getting acquired by the bigger company that needs the tool (a diff version of buy)

No dev has been promoted for choosing to buy a turnkey solution from a vendor. Plenty got for building from the ground up. Engineers starting infra startups usually did just this. But to make their startup successful: they need to get devs to sign off buying from a vendor.

Fascinating, the lifecyle of "buy vs build" Devs working at product companies often decide to build (b/c they like the challenge/dislike vendors). Then realize: this is hard. Some found a startup & become a vendor. Then they try to sell... to devs who would rather just build!

@fun_cuddles I've always wanted to put thoughts on paper about the progression from "drive this solution"->"find a solution"->"Define this problem"->"Find new problems" as PMs level up. As you mentioned above "drive this solution" can be done by other functions

@NickSDavis I'd make you contribute to it! Honestly I'm surprised reforge or someone hasn't put it together already, what I am imagining is just basically snippets of case studies from their live courses

@fun_cuddles Totally agree. I would also add that there has always been a balance of "inbound" and "outbound" functions in high-performing PM teams. It sounds like Airbnb is now optimizing for outbound, which for a company like Airbnb makes sense. FWIW: I'd read that blog!

I really want to put a blog together that has concrete examples from real life product people on what we actually *do* and no it's not making JIRA tickets all day

I have noticed that music is the fastest and most reliable stress relief I have day-to-day. A day of jam-packed meetings can make it hard to make use of that though. Anyone else feel similarly?
