We’re bringing State of Origin to Auckland next year! This will be the first time New Zealand has hosted State of Origin, a huge milestone for league fans across the country. It’s also significant for our economy. For every $1 spent on major events like this, it generates $3.20 for the local economy. This is going to be a major boost to our economy. And a growing economy means more jobs, higher wages and more opportunities for everyone. This is a pretty cool way to do it!

A wonderful crowd and a spectacular show last night at Eden Park, New Zealand with the final evening of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo . I was thrilled to meet many of the bands people beforehand and then was the Salute Taker for the evening. A lovely welcome from Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei to start the evening. Military bands from New Zealand, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, Tonga, Switzerland, Norway & Australia. My favourite event was the finale showing excellent coordination where the bands all worked together. Fabulous photos from PO Chris Weissenborn of New Zealand Defence Force . @simonbwilson @edenparknz Just to confirm @NZ_Football has confirmed teams were both announced at the game last night at approximately 18:45 while they were out warming up. That was the same time as it was done in Wellington and is the standard for most matches. Apology accepted!
