HEAR ME OUT: Jarren Duran ($7.5M) for Cole Ragans Triston Casas & Patrick Sandoval ($12.5M) for Wilson Contreras Bryan Bello ($9M AAV), Marcello Mayer, Jordan Hicks ($12M for 2026/27) for Ketel Marte. Red Sox would acquire three impact players for nearly the exact annual money for 2026 that they cleared off the books. Plus would have $20M left to get a complimentary bat/relief arm. Bloom reportedly still likes Triston Casas. And could likely flip Sandoval at the deadline provided that he recovers. The Hicks money is the most challenging, but Mayer should sweeten the deal enough. AZ just brought back Merrill Kelly over the weekend. Breslow saves face. Red Sox contend. But he probably wouldn’t be able to execute these types of moves.
