Here’s the case for things aren’t as bad as some suggest: -USA lost 2-1 totaling up the first halves against Portugal and Belgium. Arguably too they were even with those teams during those first halves (.36 xG better FWIW). -USA chopped and changed the team a lot during the course of the games and window. You’re not gonna do that during the WC. There will be no Roldan or Arfsten when the WC games start. -As we know, a bunch of key players were missing that are expected fit for WC (Adams, Richards, Dest, Wright, Johnny). -March window results often aren’t a good barometer of how the WC will go. USA has a bad history in windows right before the WC even in WC’s they are successful. I’m not saying that this team is meeting expectations or I’m happy with the current group, but the overall footballing media looks for any chance they can get to tear down American soccer, and now that a few bad results happened they’re way overdoing it.

I'll reiterate my stance: Officiating needs to be torn down to the studs. They need to rebuild it with the technology that's now available. What they've done instead—which is to continually add on to what they already have, and overcomplicate everything—clearly isn't working.

If the Red Sox were to sign Alex Bregman to a deal with a $30 MM AAV and offered Lucas Giolito the QO and it was accepted ($22.025 MM), their Luxury Tax number for 2026 would already be at $257.47 MM. That’s with Nathaniel Lowe being non-tendered and Trevor Story opting in. This would be before they add a power bat, figure out 1B, add a #2 starter, and add to the bullpen.

I’m not for “outlawing” the tush push. But they have to do a better job of officiating it. Someone is always in the neutral zone. And saying he couldn’t have fumbled because of “forward progress” is absurd. The whole play could be blown dead at the snap if we are using that rule.
