To be fair when it comes to Nick, while the left calling him a Nazi means nothing since they call everyone a Nazi, the people on the center and the right calling him Nazi is clearly not because of his ideas on immigration, it's because he says things like "team Hitler" and "Hitler was really cool".
As for the idea that he wants populist right and left to unite I'm sure he knows that Nazism was defined by the Nazis as a "syncretic movement" that united concepts from the left and the right.
I'm not saying that him wanting to find common ground and unite left and right is automatically a Nazi thing but I would not use that concept to say "I can't be a Nazi because X".
