Can anyone confirm this? Because if so, this definitely adds another wrinkle. This would basically rule out the possibility of Skubal not knowing about Valdez’s deal before it leaked. A free agent contract isn’t really applicable in an arbitration case anyway, but Valdez’s deal wouldn’t be the “slap in the face” to Skubal that it appears to be.
