@moshik_temkin Without Hayek the socialists would of taken our golf clubs, and then we couldn't wish people well while teeing off.

@ggreenwald They are dogs, not humans. Everyone loves dogs. Everyone hates humans. That does not mean AOC is not x or y, but id like to see a similar story regarding the abuse of humans and bi-partisan etc etc

“What is desired? It is that which is desiring in the other. This cannot happen unless the subject himself is situated qua desirable. Which is precisely what he demands when he demands to be loved.” Jacques Lacan The tee-shirt is here: Etsy.com/au/listing/952…

@yantomr4 It was definitely you "Freud's biggest fan" I wanted to make fun of, don't worry. Though I am glad you care my ire hits the correct target. 😙 But you're still being such a tease! You have a theory regarding the symbolic and how its particular to each individual. Share!

@yantomr4 haha, no no, don't back down now. You're teaching me. "Everyone has different symbolic structures" Please, go on. I'm all ears.

@NicoMichaelides Btw, if you are really lacanian minded, you would treat ordinary language like it is. We know what people mean by "inflated ego". Everyone has different symbolic structures, and we should not impose our jargon onto others.

@yantomr4 Lacanian Psychoanalysis? You are responding to Lacan in Australia. What possibly else would we be on about?

@yantomr4 Double demerits for also using it in a reified fashion: an ego cannot be large or small, diminish or swell. To do so you would have to reify the concept and strip it of all meaning (of which it has none outside said formalism).

@yantomr4 "Probably, with less ego masquerading as science" Considers Freudian psychic formalism a ruse masquerading as science. To prove this point they use...a Freudian concept (ego). oof.

@ann123fitz @adam_tooze If you get rid of the yellow filter "vibrant colour" is not what will appear. It will just be replaced with something else, as its unconscious.

@moshik_temkin Though pundits are just morbid symptoms, and have no beneficial use to society. Again, if you see them, it just means times are bad.

@moshik_temkin When historians are listened to for answers about the present or the future, you know things are bad. Painting grey on grey is fine, but it is what it is. "History has lessons" is just a way to validate present crimes or ideas one prefers.

@sopjap Outside of 'intellectual' circles I have never heard his name mentioned, its hard to imagine Slavoj having meaningful political clout, thats why i asked. Critique? Sure, but maybe from people who dont 'never tire of hating him'😛We all like an unbiased critique.

Zizek is the embodiment of Kaja Kallas in less attractive packaging and more academic credentials. I never get tired of hating Žižek—This is a really sober and good piece on how Žižek has nothing left of his leftist ideology and has no pulse on reality. Read:
Vladimir Metelkin@vldmrmetelkin

I wrote a piece reviewing Slavoj Žižek's key statements over the last few years. He has abandoned core progressive principles, reaching a point where his stances literally echo the rhetoric of European warmongers. I also focus specifically on his reasoning about Russia.

@sopjap What does it matter the political opinions of these philosophical figures (Heidegger etc)? Like there are many Nazis, and at least one of them wrote a lot of interesting philosophy. Slavoj could be the worst politically, we got the part we want already (the philosophy books)?
