Scientists have developed a new mRNA-based cancer vaccine that enhances the immune system's ability to fight tumors, even those that are typically resistant to treatment. Unlike traditional cancer vaccines that target specific tumor markers, this vaccine works by stimulating the immune system in a broad manner, similar to how the body responds to viral infections.
In mouse studies, the vaccine was shown to activate immune cells, leading to the shrinkage and, in some cases, complete elimination of various types of tumors, including melanoma, bone, and brain cancers. The vaccine also made tumors more responsive to existing immunotherapies, such as PD-1 inhibitors, by increasing the expression of certain proteins that help the immune system recognize and attack cancer cells.
This approach holds promise for developing a universal cancer vaccine that could be effective across different types of cancer, potentially simplifying treatment strategies and improving patient outcomes. However, further research and clinical trials are necessary to determine the safety and efficacy of this vaccine in humans.

Novavax will be available in BC for the fall!!!
My MLA’s constituency office sent me an email today confirming that it should be “available province-wide in select pharmacies.”
Advocacy works!
Thanks @Biff234523 @DoNoHarmBC @Friesein and all those who have raised your voice.

@NicolaRW Here's that thread I mentioned. I was wrong about who posted it.

So it's clear that BA.3.2 preferentially infects children, something we have never seen before in a SARS-CoV-2 variant. Why? The question's baffled me, but after a suggestion from Darren Martin, I think I have an explanation that makes sense. 1/16

I don't think enough people understand that you can carry meningitis bacteria in your nose and throat and *not get ill*.
It's only when the bacteria invade the body, entering the bloodstream or reaching the brain and spinal cord, that it gets very serious very quickly.
So what makes people more vulnerable to invasive meningococcal disease?
There are several recognised risk factors, but one is impaired immune function, including low lymphocyte levels such as reduced CD4 T cells.
And we all know by now what can cause those reduced CD4 levels don't we?
Yes.
Covid infection.
This is all *established science*.
It's not new.
All this blather in the papers about vapes and kissing. That's misdirection.
The blather about lockdowns reducing cases? That's misdirection too.
This disease is about *vulnerability*.
Even a *temporary* drop in lymphocytes can make you vulnerable.
I'm fed up with all the people diverting attention away from that.
