It's crazy to think how early we still are in the One Piece TCG collectible market. The combination of a global franchise, a growing player base, and extremely limited high-grade populations could make cards like C01 some of the most important modern anime collectibles of this generation. The question isn't whether One Piece is big enough. The question is whether collectors realize how early we are.

Will Bandai’s copy paste from their own One Piece playbook work for Naruto? Naruto is iconic, my first anime really. But it doesn’t have the CURRENT global $$$ that One Piece has flowing in (Netflix, universal studios, etc). Whatcha think?

It’s a good discussion, 1st base Charizard I think 20+ years ago raw was around $100. If you factor inflation maybe these 27 year old one piece vintage card raw should be around $1000 raw I’m talking about the first wave of hyper battle Holos in 1999. If you compare the price of 1st base Charizard in psa 10 today around 500k and people still think it’s undervalued 🤨 If anything the luffy c01 rookie card in psa 10 is probably going to be more rare since nobody cared for 20+ years also Bandai probably printed way less than pokemon even back then.

@urbanmedium @NicotineTCG I don’t disagree. I do feel the come up has been quick and insane. And I have reservations. I’m a skeptic not a hater. I fucking love one piece man and like I’ve shared, even have a few of my own

One of the things I’m most bullish on about One Piece is how popular the game is. I don’t hate these old cards but something about it feels forced. Not saying you shouldn’t buy them but they’re not really for me (although I have a few)

@OldTownJB @urbanmedium You gotta admit the game sucks. When Pokemon came out people where playing the gameboy games and also that’s when everyone was playing Yu-Gi-Oh!

@NicotineTCG @urbanmedium Well a lot of people did play with Pokemon cards as kids and it’s why vintage Pokemon holds so much nostalgia for people compared to these cards that many of us are seeing for the first time 25 years after print

@urbanmedium The speed with which it’s maturing is… surprising. I bought a handful of C07 Zoro’s so I’m just as much of a fomo chaser as the next person but I don’t see how Japanese cards no one has seen or played with have become this high end this fast. But so far looks like I’m wrong

Today I woke up and saw my offer got accepted for my favorite card of OPTCG I’m trying to be as much as I can on the right curve on my cards investments, hopefully ain’t midcurving too much… But this one I think I will keep it forever as it’s the card that really amaze me when I started ! Introducing you : PSA10 One Piece Day 24 🤩 It’s maybe not the low pop card or the prize card or the provenance matter card, etc… But the aesthetic of this cards with all the different gear is peak for me ! What do you think of this card and what’s your personal favorite grail ?

@pointfarmcap @frizzaud Yeah I agree the tokenomics didn’t make a lot of sense. Insider hold was a red flag for me at least. But I wish they will continue to grow either way it’s better to be position in one piece tcg

I could see a TCG focused token doing well, but I don’t think this is a good buy with current tokenomics. The best use for CC as a company with this token would be to dump tokens to buy more cards to add to gacha inventory. This makes revenue go BRRR but it’s directly at the expense of token holders Better r/r to farm points on gachas that are pre tge.

Just some estimates as of current timeline 300–600 million people have some connection to One Piece. 50–100 million are active fans. 1–5 million may actively collect One Piece merchandise (cards, figures, manga, memorabilia, etc.). 100,000–500,000 are serious collectors who regularly spend thousands of dollars. 5,000–25,000 could realistically afford a collection containing six-figure pieces. 500–5,000 worldwide may be willing and able to spend $100,000+ on a single grail item. When you buy a card it’s a good idea to think about who will want them even if it’s a PC
