जिन #बीजू_पटनायक के मान-सम्मान को लेकर इतनी हाय-तौबा मची हुई है, उनको लेकर मेरी दो स्मृतियां हैं।
■ संयोग ही है, उस दिन दिल्ली के AIIMS गया था। गूगल
किया तो तारीख थी 17 अप्रैल 1997 की। किसी काम से AIIMS के पीछे बने #मार्गं की तरफ गया। शायद कार पार्क करने। वहां दो-चार पुलिस वाले खड़े थे। कार खड़ा करने से मना किया। पूछा तो बोले एक नेता मर गया है, अभी यहां गाड़ी वगैरहा ना लगाएं। उत्सुकतावश पूछ लिया, कौन नेता मरा? तो एक ने बताया, बीजू पटनायक। ओह! अच्छा! फिर देखा, एक स्ट्रेचर पर सफेद कपड़े से ढकी एक लाश खींच कर लाई जा रही है, बीजू साहब। शायद एक-दो आदमी। पांच-छह जवान। बस! इतना ही ताम-झाम।
यह था बीजू साहब का अंतिम समय। और यह था उनका मान-सम्मान। नवीन पटनायक तो हरगिज नहीं थे पिता के पार्थिव शरीर के साथ।
■ दूसरी स्मृति है #मिहिर_सेन की। तैर कर "इंग्लिश चैनल" पार करने वाले पहले भारतीय। मुलाकात कोलकाता के श्रॉफ अस्पताल में हुई थी। जीवन के अंतिम प्रहर में थे। चार दिन पहले मिले थे, तन्हा! घर में अकेले पड़े! अपनी टट्टी-पेशाब में सने। डॉ. श्रॉफ ने बताया, आपके रिपोर्ट करने के बाद मुख्यमंत्री ज्योति बसु ने तो कोई मदद नहीं की। थोड़ा-बहुत सहयोग #बीजू_बाबू ने भेजा है।

मैंने अपने चार वर्ष उड़ीसा में गुजारे हैं और यही कह सकता कि बीजू पटनायक का क़द वहाँ किसी नेता के क़द जैसा नहीं है बल्कि उड़िया स्मिता के प्रतीक पुरुष और एक हीरो की तरह है।
चाहे उनके बारे में बात करने वाले मेरे प्रोफेसर दास हों या क्लासमेट्स , सबके आँखों में ग़ैर उड़िया व्यक्ति से बीजू पटनायक के बारे में बताए हुए एक उत्साह से लबालब चमक तैर जाती थी। ऐसा लगता था , वो उनके जीवन के दिव्य पुरुष हों।
भाजपा पगला जोन में घुस चुकी है, निशिकांत दुबे मोटरमाउथ हो चुके हैं और स्याना कौवा बन विष्ठा खाने पे आमादा हैं।

26 साल पहले लखनऊ में सीवर से लोगों के घर में गैस जल रही थी । ख़ुद मैंने ही रिपोर्ट किया था । बाद में सरकारी लोगों को समझ आया कि इसमें कट कमीशन नहीं है । वो तो बड़े बड़े एसटीपी यानी सीवेज ट्रीटमेंट प्लांट लगाने में ही मिलता है, इसलिए प्रोजेक्ट आगे बढ़ने नहीं दिया गया। कायदे से सिंगापुर, जापान और यूरोप की तरह भारत में भी चूल्हे और बल्ब जलाने में यह तकनीक इस्तेमाल की जानी चाहिए थी। इससे भारत का एलपीजी इम्पोर्ट काफ़ी हद तक कम हो जाता ।
सुधीर का मानना है, कॉरपोरेट और कारोबारी नहीं चाहते, सीवर से गैस बने.. खरबों का धंधा है।
फिर Arvind Kejriwal के पिसरे पिसरे मुतविन्ना संजय सिंह सरीखे नमूने। जिन्हें कारोबारी मीडिया भी खूब हाइलाइट करता है। हाल ही कहीं पढ़ रहा था, गाजियाबाद के वृजविहार में स्थानीय लोग #सीवर_गैस से साझा रसोई चला रहा है।
सवाल है, ऐसे जमीनी और सफल प्रयोग पर #लोकविमर्श क्यों नहीं आते? इसकी सीधी जिम्मेदारी तो #शिक्षित_समाज की है। क्या यह समाज #छद्म_परिवर्तनकामी है? भयंकर बौद्धिक अराजकता का शिकार है?

ये अकेली घटना नहीं है।
फरवरी महीने में उड़ीसा झारखंड के बार्डर के कुछ कस्बों में ईरान के लिए गुपचुप ढंग से मौलवियों की पहल पर कई मुसलमान परिवारों ने धन के अलावा सोने के जेवरात भी जकात में दिए।
मजे की बात है कि जब पास के नगर के ज्वैलर को बेच कर रुपए में तब्दील करने गए, तो ज्वैलर ने 90% जेवरात इमिटेशन की कह कर लेने से इनकार कर दिया। मौलवियों ने दूसरे के बाद तीसरे करते कई ज्वैलर से जांच करवा ली तो हार कर वापिस लौट आए। मौलवियों ने फिर उन सभी परिवारों को बुलाया जिन्होंने जेवर देने का दिखावा किया था। अव्वल तो कोई आया नहीं सामने और जब दवाब बनाया गया तो उन्होंने दीन के नाम की कसमें खाई की उन्होंने सच्चा सोना दिया था और ये जेवर उनके नहीं हैं।
मौलवी सर पीट कर रह गए और मामले को दबाने सहमति हुई। दान में आए कैश को मस्जिदों में बांटने की सहमति हुई और मामले को रफा दफा किया गया, और किरकिरी से बचने के लिए सभी से दीन के खातिर चुप रहने की कसमें दी गई।
बात मेरे एक परिचित ज्वैलर ने फोन पर हंसे हंसते बताई और मैं भी हंसे बिना नहीं रह पाया।

सच ये है कि ..
ये सब ढकोसला है, और कुछ नहीं।
नेता बनने वाले मुसलमान खुद कुछ जकात नहीं करेंगे, पर गरीब मुसलमानों से जमीनें, जेवर, गाड़ी, बहुमूल्य चीजें बिकवा देंगे, और वे बिचारे झूठा गर्व पाल कर जीवन काटेंगे।
