Sometimes I find myself falling into the thought patterns I had when I had liberal friends.
Earlier, I was planning out a new story and I had to stop because I realized I was creating the characters with DEI in mind, instead of just making good characters.

I think there's some instances of being stuck in the past mentality at play. They aren't censored now but they're holding onto any instance of being silenced in the past so tightly they see it in any push back now.
That and echo chamber algorithms feeding them that narrative.
This is only giving the benefit of the doubt to some of the more naive individuals among them though. There are certainly those that know full well they're not being censored by any measure. Just being criticized.

Ironically, the left believes there is almost no representation for their ideas in government or by the media.
This goes back to 2018 when I was still a Democrat, and persists to this day. Just watch a Hasan Piker stream. They think they’re censored, and that if anything the media (including left wing sources like CNN and MSNOW) is covering for Trump. I used to think this myself.
What’s stranger though, is that after my political calibration, it was really easy to see that wasn’t the case. I became almost instantly aware of how absurdly left-biased the media is, and how uncommon it is for any right wing (or even just non-woke) topics to make it to your news feed.
