They identified the body by his teeth. It is chilling; what we have lived through in Gaza is beyond even imagination. We will never forget, and we will never forgive.

DIWALI IN LONDON Diwali is coming up again and no progress has been made by the Mayor of London (@MayorofLondon @SadiqKhan) in terms of working with criminal, anti-Muslim pogrom organisation the VHP (Vishva Hindu Parishad). We are in an era of politics in which speaking about values or red lines can feel plainly ridiculous, given that apparently even live-streamed genocide is not a red line. But to have Diwali celebrations organised by the VHP and the like is also beyond a red line. The Mayor of London must cut off all ties with these organisations. It requires only the most basic level of research to discover the terrible things these organisations are affiliated with. At the very least Hindus for Human Rights UK should (@Hindus4HRUK) be put on the committee to represent a different kind of voice from within the Hindu community (note we do not claim to speak for all Hindus like Hindu Council UK, for example, does). Given the worrying situation in Leicester and of the far right more broadly all around the country, this inaction is a disgrace. The country is in an urgent situation — the white supremacist far-right, the Hindutva far-right, and the Zionist far-right are all closely connected and only tightening their collaboration. So addressing Hindutva, however niche it might seem to you, cannot wait. We are at a pivotal point in politics with far-right ascendance, authoritarian crackdown, and conflict. Fake pledges will not cut it now (not that they ever did). We need to address the different but connecter aspects of the far-right nexus that ultimately threatens us all. @LondonAssembly @LDN_gov @GOVUK #NoToHindutva #Hindutva #HinduMuslimUnity #interfaith #multifaith #faith #harmony #Hindu #Hinduism #Muslim #Islam #unity #solidarity #freepalestine #freepalestine🇵🇸 #London #mayor #city #community #peace #stopwar #stopthewar #war #gaza #genocide

A Palestinian woman from Gaza was asked to do an interview with the BBC today who once asked her about her support for Hamas. She replied with her own questions this time. Power to her!

Diwali is coming up, it has been one year now — what progress has the Mayor of London (@mayoroflondon, @sadiqkhan) made in terms of working with (the British wing of) the genocidal, anti-Muslim pogrom organisation the VHP (Vishva Hindu Parishad)? He has managed to take the VHP’s name off of some (not even all) of the “Mayor of London’s annual Diwali” website pages… But there are still some mentions of the VHP in this capacity, suggesting no substantive change has been made, only minor cosmetic changes (an insult). We are in an era of politics in which speaking about values or red lines can feel plainly ridiculous, given that apparently even live-streamed genocide is not a red line. But to have Diwali celebrations organised by the VHP and the like is also beyond a red line. If the Mayor of London were to act with integrity, rather than just sucking up to the most powerful representatives of British Hindus despite their being anti-Muslim ideologues, then he would cut off all ties with these organisations. Nothing will stop the ideologues, trolls, and bots form doing their thing in the comments, but just as an example of how some of the most powerful “official” representatives of British Hindus are anti-Muslim bigots, let’s look at Hindu Council’s Anil Bhanot. Bhanot described himself as “Hindutva” and said, “Islam is a religion of violence" and that, “Islam's dawah is an evil tenet and the sooner it's legislated against in parliament the better. It turns muslims into Shaitan's, as in love Jihad too”. He continued, "Hinduism is the father of all religions. Islam is a bad copy," "Islam is against humanity”, and Islamophobia is "a weapon to cull free speech of good able well-balanced human beings." Bhanot later deleted his tweets and said "there is no point" bringing subcontinental politics to the UK. Guess what, Anil, it’s too late and it’s your fault. As you can see in my original tweet from October 2024, quoted below, I met the Mayor last year and put these concerns to him. He assured me that his “team had just been speaking about this very topic” and that they will take this seriously. He gave me the contact details of one of his close assistants. All of them proceeded to ignore me for the next year and have seemingly made no change to the Diwali arrangements. Given the worrying situation in Leicester and of the far right more broadly all around the country, this inaction is a disgrace. The country is in an urgent situation — the white supremacist far-right, the Hindutva far-right, and the Zionist far-right are all closely connected and only tightening their collaboration. So addressing Hindutva, however niche it might seem to you, cannot wait — not even for potential fourth London Mayoral terms. We are at a pivotal point in politics with far-right ascendance, authoritarian crackdown, and conflict. Fake pledges will not cut it now (not that they ever did). If you say you are committed to fighting Hindutva, or Zionism, or racism, you better mean it. Or don’t say it. diwaliinlondon.com @londonassembly, @ldn_gov, @govuk #NoToHindutva #Hindutva #HinduMuslimUnity #interfaith #multifaith #faith #harmony #Hindu #Hinduism #Muslim #Islam #unity #solidarity #freepalestine #freepalestine🇵🇸 #London #mayor #city #community #peace #stopwar #stopthewar #war #gaza #genocide

It is beyond belief that London’s official #Diwali celebration, taking place today, is organised by the roster of organisations I’ve screenshotted below. These organisations perform a supportive or whitewashing function to varying degrees for violent, genocidal, exclusionary ideology: #Hindutva/Hindu supremacy/fascism. @mayoroflondon @sadiqkhan, when I met you (picture below), you assured me that you saw the value of tackling Hindu nationalism and said you wanted to work with me, yet your advisor hasn’t responded to me and you have officially sanctioned a Diwali celebration organised by none other than the Vishwa Hindu Parishad? I’ve added a couple pictures below about the VHP in case Wikipedia is out of your reach. Also, Diwali event organised by the Brahmin Society North London — have you lost it?? @londonassembly, @ldn_gov, @govuk, I’m weary of noone acting on this. More important than my weariness is the suffering of innocent people in India and here who need you to lift your fingers. @zackpolanski, @zoegarbett, @carolinerussell, @EllieChowns I would really appreciate any help you could give with this. This needs to change, I won’t bother coming up with an analogy for the VHP, but this is unacceptable.

Many in our media are finally waking up to the unspeakable horrors that Palestinians are enduring in Gaza. It is too late. Israel inflicted these horrors because they were encouraged to do so, in part by a media class that failed to treat all human life with equal worth.

Appalling how large sections of Indian media are simply lying. The scale of misinformation right now is terrifying. The abdication of basic journalistic principles is unprecedented—even by our already low standards. Poor GD Bakshi is having to tell anchors about fog of war and not believe everything they are hearing!!

Disturbing to not see a single anti-war political leader in India today. With zero space for anything other than jingoism in the public media, the drums of war beat across the political spectrum.

I just want to understand- how did a terror attack of this kind take place in the most militarised zone on earth ? How did it go unchecked and why isn’t Indian mainstream media reporting on this specific issue ?

🚨URGENT: Multiple credible sources – including UN agencies, 12 major international NGOs, and journalists on the ground – report that most of Gaza’s 2.2 million people are now surviving on just one meal per day or less due to Israel’s total blockade on food and other essentials since March 2. The CEOs of 12 major aid organizations, including Oxfam, Save the Children, CARE, NRC, and others, said in a joint statement on April 17, 2025: “Survival itself is now slipping out of reach and the humanitarian system is at breaking point. Every single person in Gaza is relying on humanitarian aid to survive. That lifeline has been completely cut off since a blockade on all aid supplies was imposed by Israeli authorities on 2 March.   We have supplies ready. We have trained medical staff. We have the expertise. What we don’t have is the access – or the guarantee by Israeli authorities that our teams can safely do their jobs.”
