When you consider that solid WP managed hosting is in that same price range, and on top of that either internally or externally a merchant must pay someone to maintain their WP site and handle updates … are they that far apart anymore?
I have a draft blog post I’ve been working on drilling into this exact topic. Both sides of the market point to each other as being more expensive. Which was why I was asking.

Shopify Diary #6: Read some interesting stats about WooCommerce vs. Shopify at storeleads.app/reports. It says that WooCommerce has more installs but Shopify attracts bigger merchants, which surprises me because Shopify can be a lot more expensive for high volume stores.

@Dominus_Kelvin I mean it definitely helps coming from a country with a good social security net, free education and free health care. The personal risk of starting a company is so much lower than in a country without those benefits.

@carlmathisen @visma I et M&A perspektiv så er dette en strategi man må ha ganske mye cash for å benytte som en vekststrategi. Man er jo i liten grad ute etter teknologien, man vil bare ha en forstyrrende konkurrent av banen. Jeg kjenner ikke produktet, så jeg har ingen følelser. :-)
