So we are now taking asylum seekers from the UK. I thought we rejected those from America. Nigeria has entered into a fresh agreement with the United Kingdom that will enable British authorities to repatriate thousands of failed asylum seekers and convicted offenders to the West African nation. The deal was formalised by Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood during President Bola Tinubu’s official visit to Britain, according to a statement released by the Home Office on Thursday.

@BBCAfrica “Ready to supply oil…” This must be a joke! You can't offer a “surplus” to the world when you can’t even hit your own basic targets. Current average production of 1.3mbpd against 1.5mbpd OPEC quota! 2026 budget benchmark of 1.84mbpd. 😊 HM, please wake up from your dream!

Nigeria’s Information minister says his country is ready to supply oil if necessary to help ease tensions in the global economy over the US-Israel war with Iran. Mohammed Idris Malagi was speaking in London during President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to the UK.

@HAHayatu They know. They have always known. The real interrogation is why the knowing never stops the dying. 15 years, multiple govts; multiple DSS bosses, same attacks. That is not a gap in intelligence. That is a decision.

About 12-13 years ago I had a discussion on Boko Haram with A DSS Director now retired. They know alot but probably their advice are not taken. If there is one organisation that knows so much is DSS.

@tokunbo_wahab I watched you on @ARISEtv this morning and I can tell you it is unarguably one of the best interviews you have had! You delivered your message so calmly, succinct and everyone can agree with you, including the trio of RR&A! Kudos to you and your team!

@afolabiodun But wait…where is the money to fund ECA coming from? @woye1 You haven't met the 1.84mbpd production benchmark YTD; you just have a price hike. At 1.31mbpd, the price hike barely covers the volume deficit. Is there something we are missing?

@kukuBR1 @Bond_not_james “Nothing can be done” is a political choice, not an economic fact. Oil is trading above $100 while our budget was set at $65. That gap is pure windfall. If Angola cushions fuel prices & Libya subsidises citizens during this shocks, why is our response hmmm & a fatter treasury?

I never imagined a day would come when these people would advocate for CCT that they condemned. Btw, I don't mind it anyway, especially at this time, and like he said: it should be upgraded and we should get our data right, and ensure we get it to those who need it.

@FinPlanKaluAja1 2022: 100% of a Huge Volume + “Strong Naira” is N7.7T 2025: 65% of a Crashed Volume + “Weak Naira” is N8.9T The reason the numbers are close isn't because the data is wrong, it is because the drop in demand was so massive it almost balanced out the spike in exchange rate.

@Nimsy01 Still the numbers here show that comparing the Naira spend in 2022 to 2025 is lower by N1t I am saying this cant be correct because in 2025, the Naira is devalued, meaning more naira spent per import, plus 65% of this consumption is imported.

@HighChiefOkoro This is an emotional & uninformed commentary! The Boss is simply telling them to be disciplined & avoid spraying bullets at shadows. A soldier who empties his magazine before real contact begins is a dead soldier! This is fire discipline, not abandonment. Learn before you weep!

THIS VIDEO BROKE MY HEART INTO PIECES 💔 An Open Letter to Christopher Gwabin Musa, Honourable Minister of Defence, and Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff Dear Sirs, I write this letter with a heavy heart, deep anger and profound disappointment as a Nigerian who still believes that the brave men in uniform are the final shield between our nation and total chaos. The disturbing video currently circulating, where soldiers were warned not to engage bandits and terrorists because they must “manage bullets,” has shaken the conscience of many Nigerians. It is heartbreaking. It is humiliating. It is deeply troubling. How did we get to this point? How did a nation with the largest population in Africa and a military with a proud history arrive at a moment where soldiers facing terrorists are told to restrain themselves because ammunition must be rationed? Are the lives of Nigerian soldiers now less important than the bullets they carry? Every Nigerian soldier deployed to the frontlines wakes up knowing the enemy they face does not hesitate. Bandits and terrorists do not manage bullets. They do not pause to consider logistics before attacking communities, ambushing troops or slaughtering innocent people. Yet the same soldiers sworn to defend this nation are now being told to hold back and manage ammunition for self defense. This is not just disturbing. It is devastating. Our soldiers leave behind families who pray for their safe return. They wear the uniform with pride and accept the possibility of death in service to Nigeria. The least their country can do is ensure they are fully equipped, fully supplied and never placed in a position where survival depends on rationing ammunition. No soldier should ever confront terrorists while worrying about whether he has enough bullets. No commander should ever have to warn troops about conserving ammunition in the middle of a war against ruthless enemies. And no country that truly values its defenders should tolerate such a reality. The message this video sends is dangerous. It tells our troops that their lives may come second to logistics. It sends a signal of hesitation to enemies who show none. And it leaves millions of Nigerians wondering whether the welfare of the very people risking their lives for us is truly a priority. This must never be the case. The welfare of our troops must come first, this shouldn’t be negotiated. Their equipment must be adequate. Their ammunition must be sufficient. Their morale must be protected. A soldier who knows his country stands firmly behind him fights with courage and confidence. A soldier who feels abandoned fights with uncertainty. And uncertainty on the battlefield costs lives. Honourable Minister and Chief of Army Staff. This moment demands clarity, accountability and immediate action. Nigerians need reassurance that our soldiers will never again be placed in a position where they must hesitate before defending themselves and the nation. Our troops deserve leadership that values their lives above everything else. Their welfare should be priority. They deserve to know that when they step into the line of fire, Nigeria has given them everything they need to win. Nothing less is acceptable. Nigeria owes them that much.

@FinPlanKaluAja1 Yes! Because volume collapsed. We imported 23.5B litres in 2022 and only 13B litres in 2025. We are paying more per litre but buying far fewer litres. The two effects I believe cancelled each other out. If volume stayed the same, that 2025 bar would be around N25T not N8.9T!

@Nimsy01 in effect, between 2022, with no devaluation and subsidy paid, you are saying the same Naira spend with no subsidy and devaluation? and 65% imported?
