The Internet is evolving - from an Internet of Information to an Internet of Value, powered by blockchain. In the last era, the winners were the MAG7 - Apple, Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Netflix, and Nvidia - trillion-dollar platforms that dominated the core verticals of the Internet: Search — Google Social — Meta Retail — Amazon Mobile/Cloud — Apple Enterprise — Microsoft Media — Netflix Compute — Nvidia They became the gatekeepers of the Information Age. But the next era will belong to a new group — the DAG7, or Digital Asset Group of Seven — protocols, not platforms, that will power the Internet of Value. The DAG7 will be different. The leaders of this new era won’t be companies with walled gardens, but open networks — decentralized, programmable, and global by design. So far, three leaders have clearly emerged: Bitcoin ($BTC) - the onchain store of value Ethereum ($ETH) - the onchain dApp ecosystem Solana ($SOL) - the onchain capital markets layer In other words, we’re still early. It's still DAG3 - for now. Over time, new protocols will rise to dominate other critical verticals: Crypto x AI - the protocol uniting the two great technologies of our time Enterprise Blockchains - the platform that can launch a thousand corporate chains The Everything Exchange - a universal onchain marketplace for all digital assets Onchain Social - identity, payments, and proof of personhood for the Web3 era And perhaps more we haven’t yet imagined.
