Shift Up CEO Kim Hyung-tae has explained the thinking behind Evie, the new main character in Stellar Blade: Blood Rain. He said she was made shorter and younger-looking on purpose to create a bigger contrast with her cool attitude and fierce close-range fighting style. He also said the team took player feedback from the first Stellar Blade seriously. While Eve had her own personality, some players felt she wasn’t very memorable, so the developers wanted Evie to have a stronger and more distinct character. Combat is getting big changes too, with more focus on close-range action and new weapons. One new addition is a reverse-blade sword, giving players more ways to fight and making combat feel more dynamic.
