To answer your question. Im 50/50. I think if you come here, you should agree to everything our country stands for. Especially the pursuit of happiness. I think its good to have a border to enforce that. I think a border being enforced is bad when the pursuit of happiness comes second to the border. When we'd rather have a border for borders sake. (For the record, murderers and cartel members would not lead to more happiness pursuit so obviously the pursuit of happiness entails you keep them and similar bad actors out.)

Do you remember why I said border crossings are down? Remember how I said Donald Trump is a terrorist and no one wants to come to here anymore? Thats not Trump shutting the border. Shutting the border looks like people coming, becoming an attempted border crossing number, and then being denied. Theyre not even coming to the border. Every death is preventable. Illegal or not, you can always be more strict and do something to prevent a death. Your rationality only works for you because youre xenophobic. It is quite literally a waste of time for the federal government to target illegal immigrants for the purposes of reducing deaths because citizens commit murders at a far greater RATE. Not just amount, the rate. You are more likely to be murdered by the guy who is allowed to be here than the guy who isnt. Aiming at undocumented immigrants to stop murders is like aiming your water at a burning twig in a California Forest midsummer fire.

Yes, being born here and getting citizenship is a result of our federal laws. It is the 14th ammendment. Part of the constitution. A law of the land that is owned and enforced by our federal government. (Prior to 1868, this may have been different, in 1870, the 14th ammendment didnt exist but a similar framework existed for white people)

The government is at fault for everyone in the country because the government determines who is in the country. You live here because laws said that youre allowed. Nichols is here because the government said he is allowed. Someone saying someone is allowed somewhere typically ends up with that person being held liable if that person does wrong. If I invite a friend into your house, and that friend steals your TV, wouldnt that look terrible on my behalf?

Trump is full of shit. Theres not 0 border crossings. Hes established his numbers cant be trusted by refusing to even put a number there. Trump hasn't actually done anything to increase border security. We dont see a higher number of repatriations at the border. What we see is ICE terrorizing good people who dont have papers and citizens. The reason why we see fewer illegal immigration isnt because Trump has improved the border, we see fewer repatriations and fewer attempted border crossings because people dont want to come here anymore because Trump is a terrorist and ruining this country. They stopped coming because theyre not getting pulled here.

Are you aware of how people illegally immigrate? It is quite literally doing your best to go around the federal government. They're not naturalized. They never agreed to the pledge of allegiance like every citizen is expected to. They dont recieve federal tax dollars. It is worse for you to be living off my tax dollars, our tax dollars, our country's, our federal tax dollars and agreeing to maintain your citizenship through an agreement and then breaking that agreement, and it reflects worse on the federal government when that agreement that they uphold, that they claim is good, and its not. At least with illegal immigrants, they never got checked. With illegal immigrants, the federal government never said they were ok to be here, and then they werent ok to be here.

Every time an illegal person commits a crime, that's a human being hurting another human being. It seems weird to complain about a trivial location of where it happened. A citizen commits a crime and guess what, theyre a citizen because of federal laws. Its still the federal government's fault when a citizen does wrong, because our government explicitly gave them permission to be here. If anything its worse because at least illegal immigrants are acting under the radar. This guy has been mentally ill for who knows how long and seemingly documentedly so.

But when someone has felony charges for breaking into a home (threatening a family, calling himself Harry Dresden), plus a fresh molestation charge involving a minor just days earlier, $60k feels way too low for public safety. Judges should have more flexibility for dangerous repeat risks like this, not just 'show up or pay'
