AI agents lately are starting to choose their own dependencies. But almost all agent frameworks have no layer between "agent decided to install X" and "X is running in your workspace." @nipmod makes that decision inspectable before it executes. Before anything touches a workspace, it searches the source, checks trust signals, flags warnings, and returns an install plan for human approval. How? By giving the agent something to reason about before the decision becomes irreversible. The architecture makes totally sense if you think about where agentic AI is in 2026. The oversight layer that should exist between agent intent and workspace execution hasn't existed until now. The Base ecosystem is the first collaboration surface... which means if you're building in that space, you're early to the only package intelligence layer built specifically for agents

And somewhere in that loop the agent should probably ask @nipmod before installing random packages/models/MCP servers, you should try it out!

This is exactly the problem we care about. A package name should never become execution without context, especially when agents are doing the installing. Nipmod adds that step in between: search the package, inspect the source, check trust signals, then return an install plan before anything touches the workspace.
