Ppl get outraged, offended and saddened by celebrities words and actions but the root of that is idol worship. You’re the one that put them on pedestal to begin with and allow them the opportunities to disappoint you and dissolve the manufactured image you created of them.

Saw the Mario Galaxy movie today. My thoughts are below. MINOR spoilers ahead.
It’s not as bad as critics say, but def not as good 90+% from fans on Rotten Tomatoes.
The truth is in the middle. It’s just an okay flick that’s worth seeing once, but I doubt it’ll be too many people’s favorite movie.
The Star of the show was Bowser Jr. I thought the performance there was solid as well all the characters interactions with one another. It’s some funny person to person moments here.
But overall I thought it was missing a definitive scene like Boswer’s peaches song in the first one.
A lot of people complained about the plot, but I’m not expecting much from a Mario movie.
If anything I think the biggest offender is the film is called Mario Galaxy and BARELY has anything in common with the games.
It seems like the focus was trying to stuff as much Nintendo in here as possible over creating a good Mario Galaxy rendition. And even still the Easter eggs weren’t as good as the first film.
StarFox was cool and I think this movie was a neat way to introduce him to a younger generation who might only know him from Smash Bros.
Just don’t read too much into that cameo. I’m not sure that’s leading to anything more than what it is.
Wouldn’t watch again, but I didn’t feel like I wasted my time. I’ll give it a

It’s one of those movies that doesn’t technically have to be good to be good. Because it is not a “good” movie. It’s for the kids.

My adult son (who I hate) came home from seeing The Mario’s Galaxy movie. He said “don’t read the reviews. This one’s for the fans,” then put a green egg popcorn bucket on my kitchen table while talking about Daisy being “the hot one”

Capitalism’s structural flaw is that once capital reaches a certain scale, it can purchase politics, government, regulations, competitors, and media, creating a self-reinforcing cycle that compounds wealth for the ones on the top.
The system that claims to reward merit increasingly rewards incumbency. That’s not a bug that can be patched with regulations, because we see that our entire political system is a cesspool of lobbyists advancing corporate interests by paying the politicians to take positions favorable for them.
Furthermore, capitalism’s end result is- the deployment of the nation’s military on its behest. Which is where we are at now. So it’s not about selling $10 tshirts, it’s if you acquire so much wealth, that you ban others from making that shirt, and you can pay the child laborer in Indonesia even less, and if they revolt, you send your military.
That has been the logical endpoint of allowing unlimited capital accumulation to operate inside democratic institutions that are, by design, purchasable.
Whether it is Chiquita bananas (also known as united fruit company), Dole pineapples, production of rubber by exploitation of Congolese- for ABIR (Anglo-Belgian India Rubber Company, JP MORGAN CHASE- owning 15k slaves as collateral, Tiffany & co- by exploiting slaves picking cotton- it’s all of it.

Digital sampling is trash, but the sound it produces can be a creative choice. I really don’t want to touch anything but vinyl.

The issue with sampling off of Youtube is that the sonic quality of the music is much lower than CD, Vinyl, and Cassette. This is one reason the music sounds like it does... 6 to 7 generations later, plus the Youtube compression does a number on the music.
