Which can be done well, but not when your devoted playerbase have a DEEP connection to the old.

Modern WoW writing makes me think of modern Star Wars writing. I can totally imagine a Blizzard employee having a big red cross over Arthas' face like Lucasfilm had of Luke Skywalker. They do not like the world they're supposed to be expanding upon. They think they're better.

Painful rewrite of old writing instead of jus writing their own new thing so they can masquerade as depth

I really thought we had hope when Metzen returned, but nothing has changed?

If my retail guild weren't such a lovely bunch, after this abysmal butchering of WoW lore, I'd quit entirely and move over to strictly Classic.
If Classic+ becomes a thing, then that will be the reality. How do you drop the ball SO HARD on an already established, beloved IP?
