A Chennai city policeman Kothandapani burnt DMK's party flag in front of the Secretariat on Thursday. Kothandapani alleged that his daughter lost her right foot due to medical negligence by the Institute of Child Health and Hospital for Children, Egmore. He claimed his daughter was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome at age three, and due to improper treatment/medication, her right foot became infected, turned black, and was ultimately amputated. He demanded legal action against the dean, director, and staff of the govt hospital, stating he was not concerned about potential departmental action against him for the protest.

A client in Chennai with 150+ employees conducted a fun poll in their office to gauge election trends. The results were an eye-opener. TVK clocked 67% of the votes, DMK 20%, and AIADMK-NDA 13%. Since the bulk of their employees are below 35, this should set alarm bells ringing for the Big 2 coalitions. With very little campaigning so far, TVK's Vijay is clearly acing it with his target groups. So either this is an aberration, or our mainstream polls are consciously underplaying the TVK vote bank. It would be great if my Twitter friends conducted such mini polls within their organisations to see where things stand. Nothing beats discovering the truth for ourselves.

If TVK captures just 60% of this youth votes: 2.37 Crore (Youth Voters) × 0.60 (Target) = 1.42 Crore Votes! 5. TVK's vote share: 1.42 Cr / 3.96 Cr = 36% Vote Share If Thalapathy Vijay hits 36%, he is performing better than the DMK did in 2001, 2006, and 2011. Does the media not even check the track record of the poll agency before putting this out? Let me answer that. They do know but since this poll says what they want it to say they will put it out anyway. This is an agency that got Bihar, Maharashtra and Haryana totally wrong. It just predicts a BJP loss everywhere. A lot like the Jan ki Baat kind of pollster who used to predict a BJP win everywhere and whose boss is now BJP official spokesperson.

As a genuine supporter of BJP, I feel let down. Forget BJP capturing power in Tamil Nadu. Forget BJP being part of a coalition government in Tamil Nadu. Forget NDA defeating DMK in 2026. My modest wish was to see these four young, hardworking, and deserving politicians enter the Assembly this year. Apart from the four sitting BJP MLAs, these are the only leaders who have done tremendous work on the ground. @SuryahSG @asuvathaman @AnanthAyyasamy @VinojBJP I always felt BJP is the only party in India that can elevate young leaders, and this has happened in other parts of India. But unfortunately, looks like it is not happening in Tamil Nadu. As a genuine supporter of BJP, I feel let down.
