@28mnthslater Have you ever seen the TV cut of Evil Dead 2? It’s completely bizarre with unused scenes to pad the runtime. Ash nearly chokes on a cereal toy, while driving. Completely unnecessary. And hilarious.

@28mnthslater Little nitpick, but both the original and Evil Dead 2 were released unrated. The NC-17 rating didn’t exist. It was either accept an X or go unrated. Both of which would limit visibility. So it’s funny that the NC-17 is now treated the same way.

the film was originally going to be rated NC-17 but was toned down to rated R. according to álvarez, they wanted to keep the rating NC-17 since the evil dead (1981) was rated NC-17 - however, the studio required them to tone it down for wide release.

@Uhchire_Wolf @Asian_O Yeah but Ebert also loved Evil Dead 2. Both of them doxxing Betsy Palmer was astoundingly uncalled for. We don’t all have to agree, every time, about a film. They had their moments where they enjoyed horror, but they sure had a rage boner in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

I never cared what "Critics" have to say about anything... BOTH Siskel and Ebert didn't like the first Terminator film, Reservoir Dogs, Road House, you name it... Siskel HATED Scarface and ANY Slasher film, he literally tried to Dox the Actress that played Jason's mother...
