One of the coolest projects I've seen in recent times has been @CoverageMapLLC's app and map! Not only is it super cool, but.. I've contributed! Both as a speed tester, and now, as of this evening we are also hosting a test server in our data center! This is a 100gb capable server with dual 100gb upstream connections! The new speed test tiling system is live on map.coveragemap.com! This includes faster tile loading, new date filter, and better scalability (more information to come on this👀). All this will still being nearly real-time.

@saisrirampur Absolutely! Our PostgreSQL implementation was ballooning and becoming a limitation for future plans. Clickhouse solved it for us. We still use PostgreSQL for other parts of the system, but splitting our systems out and using the proper tool for the job can't be overstated

So true! I’m a huge Postgres fan, but I still believe in using the right tool for the right job. Having worked closely with 1000s of customers across Postgres and @ClickHouseDB, I’ve seen firsthand where each truly excels. The same analytics tasks you can do in Postgres can be done orders of magnitude more efficiently, with better performance and at significantly lower cost, in ClickHouse. The similar principle applies to OLTP workloads where Postgres excels!

Been slowly migrating our map tiling service from Postgis to @ClickHouseDB and it's been quite amazing. Faster querying, more complicated filtering (date filter coming soon👀), better scaling, over 10x decrease in storage, and still real time! Will release in the coming weeks.

Been working on a website to browse all IPv4 ranges and see who owns them in a cool, scrollable way. Is it pointless? Absolutely. Is it cool? Hell yes! I'll probably release this soon, idk when.
