Right above Mapuia ridge, 7.30PM, residents can wave at the pilot from their dinner table. Super friendly attitude from Wellington Aero Club with the residents, great way to strengthen your social license while working on your pilot one 😡

@CivilAviationNZ Aircraft noise in Miramar, caused by recreational aircraft, stays within the legal noise limits but exceeds what is acceptable for the community. The legal framework must change to reduce exposure to noise where it is more acceptable for the community.

The Airport is seeking feedback from the community to expand over the Golf Course. We are asking for the consultation to be delayed to 2021, outside of summer holidays. We are also opposing this expansion during a climate crisis. wellington.scoop.co.nz/?p=133238

On the 10th of November, we met with the Aero Club and the Airport at the Wellington City Council. We discuss the noise issue and suggested some ways to improve the situation. Next meeting early in the New Year to discuss how we can implement them!
