We can all be mad, and rightly so, at David Stearns for a horrendous offseason.
At the same time, the injury luck has been brutal. Lindor & Soto both already on IL, Senga, Robert, Polanco, Minter.
This lineup looks much different w/ it's four missing starters.

Steve Cohen and David Stearns need to pick a lane -- fire Mendoza or give him public support of time. Because this purgatory is not helping the Mets -- and it is just cruel to someone who has been a loyal employee.

We need this team to actually commit to him. He’s versatile and his work ethic is vastly better than Vientos’.

He hasn't been great, but Brett Baty hitting .241/.371/.379 is something you can live with. A 750 OPS and good defense and versatility helps. He's trending the right way.

And let’s be fair here— a lot has gone wrong for which I don’t blame Stearns. Williams has been bad. Montas turned out to be a bust. Manaea has too. Some moves are good just just don’t work out, and I don’t hold them against him.
