@PodThorn This is a bad take. Acuff is such a better passer/playmaker than CT was. He's also more athletic and has better measurements, and by all accounts was beloved by his coach and teammates. He could be an average defender, a great scorer & lead playmaker. CT only cared about scoring.

You have to build a completely different team to make Acuff work. You have to create the 04 Sixers type of lineup. If Acuff was going to be your selection just keep and pay Cam Thomas.

Egor Dëmin Austin Reaves Michael Porter Jr. Lu Dort Aday Mara That’s a group that could contend for play-in spot, in my opinion. Mara is an intriguing fit that would continue the Nets theme of targeting high feel players with great positional size. With Dëmin at guard and Mara at center, Brooklyn would be building an identity of being a huge team with high feel.

For all the folks that think Nets wouldn't draft Acuff, I want people to square that with the fact that they were clearly going for Jeremiah Fears (after Kon K was off the board). That was well documented last year - despite him being smaller profile than who they drafted.

@BrooklynNetcast If he's Jalen, Mitchell, or Dame, it's clearly worth it. If he's Darius Garland, it's probably still worth it.

I want to preface this by saying I think Darius Acuff Jr. will be a very good offensive player. The issue for me is, that he has to be a top 10ish offensive player in basketball if he’s going to be a 30+% usage player who doesn’t bring anything to the table as far as defense or rebounding goes if you want him to positively effect games. It’s a high bar to hit, that’s why I’m not for taking him really.

I actually paid to watch the wretched @BrooklynNets the past two years. I think I'm keeping my @NBA League Pass funds this year.
