This would be amazing to have again. The boss fight not being the end as we would expect.
They caught us off guard with most of the EE’s in BO7 so I expect the same for Totenreich.

Something that would be cool to see in Totenreich is steps after the boss fight has ended. Stuff like Shadows of Evil, or Der Eisendrache, where you aren't done until you complete a step after the bossfight.

@TheRealCobho There's so many ways in modern zombies to make yourself practically immortal from gums and perma perks and self revives and shrouds and augments. I don't think a wipe attack is a bad thing in these games

Wipe attacks in boss fights add intensity and jeopardy. The only reason people don't like them is cause of wipe attacks in older games where things like self rez's and perma perks didnt exist.
Wipe attacks imo improve the experience without making it unfair, especially in bo7

I really hope Totenreich’s boss fight has a wipe mechanic. We haven’t had one since Terminus and The Tomb.

Thinking about it more I am totally okay if part of the boss fight is fighting the Frost Giant (with or without Origins Robot).
But I would want it to be similar to Astra Malorum where we got teased about the first phase of the boss fight before it transforms.
Obviously mechanics matter a lot more in the long run, but for the sake of the "Wow" factor during the EE hunt I would love if the intro didn't spoil the entire boss fight and instead just teased part of it to garner hype.

I REALLY hope the Giant on Totenreich isn't *just* the Boss Fight of the map. I hope he plays a significant role in the core gameplay.
Either as being something very similar to the Origins Robot where he walks through the map, or maybe something slightly different.
And if he can step on you... I REALLY hope they give us a Golden Helmet Side Quest 🙏

@NoLuck54595082 @zackpr05 Believe it or not, that was the idea. They didn’t envision the average game of zombies taking multiple hours to complete. You went as far as you could and then you died. Until bo2 ofc.

I think pre-modern zombies has some crazy spectacle too

@xpertfusion3 @zackpr05 I agree, which is why the modern Easter eggs win flat out due to the spectacle of boss fights. I can never go back to a map like mob of the dead Easter egg where nothing really happens except black-and-white audio reels.

@NoLuck54595082 @zackpr05 That’s why you play a map with good Easter eggs and side quests so you always have something to do.
Which gives way more gameplay depth than just getting points to upgrade a weapon more times.

@xpertfusion3 Not special enemies but in ashes they gave zombies specific outfits depending on what location you’re in, astronaut zombies at cosmodrome, waitress zombies at diner, cowboys in ashwood, etc

Something I REALLY want to see Zombies do more of, is area-specific special enemies.
This would be the best way to have MANY special enemies on a single map, without it being overwhelming or turning into "boss spam"
It hasn't been done that many times before, but one example is on Revelations, the Spiders will ONLY spawn inside the Apothican. Allowing them to exist on Revelations, but in a very limited quantity.
I would honestly love to have maps again like IX, which has 8 special enemies, as long as they make some of them area-specific.
This would also make different sections of a map standout more, making your experience within the map more varied.

There's 1 mechanic on the map which has me worried, but I'm not completely in the know on how/when it's used.
It could be implemented just fine, but it could also be absolutely horrible and oppressive.
Make of this what you will, it's a nothing burger tweet meant to serve as a reminder for myself to see how it turned out when I actually get to play the map.
