No one’s forcing you to pay anything. Every animal species, humans are animals, go through the same struggle, fighting for survival. Some choose to leave early, but most take on the fight and attempt to alleviate their burden… fire, than the wheel, and mills, and washing machines, and cars, and cell phones. No other species has access to as many « tools » to go through life. The alternative would be to give all that up, find a secluded, isolated place, and live of the land. Every other species does just that, humans did it too. IMO, it’s easier and safer, and more interesting to acquire skills, work, manage.

Nirvana’s music does not stand the test of time. But the Smashing Pumpkins does. So ultimately Billy Corgan won out against Kurt Cobain. Nirvana was hugely popular but I never listen to it anymore. I find Smashing Pumpkins more musical and listenable. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is a truly great album. Nirvana’s best was probably Unplugged. What say you @batcountry1980 ?

My high school dropout boomer parents got married at 18 and 17 and lived in a cold water (no hot water) flat in the core city of St. Louis. They had three kids and rented apartments for 17 years before they bought their first modest home. They both worked multiple jobs and drove beater cars or took the city bus. AND they were thankful because they didn't have to do all of that during the depression which was worse. This was the common experience of most of our neighbors as well. That's why they were called working class. You are so spoiled and pampered you have no idea. Sit down and shut up You can complain and blame others or you can work your rear off for decades with no vacation.
