It can be heartbreaking to pour your soul into your craft and having it fall flat. Asking "why" may easily lead to a spiral of despair, instead of finding an actual solution. Even though there are multiple available to you.

@TheJackyMartin It also seems to happen when you throw media up there that doesn't have much for the audience to connect with beyond "looking cool". It is important to signal things like genre and twists on familiar mechanics. "This looks like a JRPG...I like JRPGs"

#IndieGameDev What has been your experience with response times when pitching to publishers? Out of 20 publishers, 2 rejected fairly quickly, 2 rejected over a week later and the rest have been silent. It has been about 2 weeks for most submissions.
