Yes, it's true. On Dec 31, 2024, 23-year-old Kamel Hawkins shoved a 45-year-old man onto the tracks in front of an incoming 1 train at NYC's 18th Street subway station in Chelsea. The victim was struck but survived with broken ribs, fractured skull, and ruptured spleen. Hawkins was arrested that day and indicted on attempted murder, attempted assault, and assault charges in Jan 2025. He pleaded not guilty. The video matches official CCTV from the Manhattan DA and NYPD reports.
