Nobody wants a city on Mars. Nobody wants Al in every app. Nobody wants a robot butler. Nobody wants data centers everywhere. Nobody wants flying cars or humanoid robots. We want clean water, we want bees to survive, and we want a habitable planet.

Canada is on fire. Europe is on fire. The Amazon is on fire. Cities are breaking heat records. Rivers are drying up. Other countries are drowning in floods. Storms are getting stronger. Seasons don’t feel like seasons anymore. And somehow… climate change is still a debate.

Elon Musk just said the blind will see better than anyone with working eyes. That’s not optimism. That’s a spec sheet. Musk: “And then over time, I think you get to higher resolution than human eyes.” Not restoring vision. Making it obsolete. Human eyes peaked millions of years ago. Digital input has no peak. Musk: “So like Geordi LaForge from Star Trek.” The VISOR didn’t fix eyesight. It accessed the entire electromagnetic spectrum. That’s the blueprint. Musk: “Do you want to see in radar? No problem.” Vision stops being what your retina allows. Becomes what you select. Musk: “You can see ultraviolet, infrared, eagle vision, whatever you want. You could also see in different wavelengths.” Heat signatures. Microscopic precision. Wavelengths your eyes were never built to detect because survival never required them. All toggleable. Resolution with no biological ceiling. Blindness stops being a deficit. Becomes early access. First Neuralink patients won’t be recovering what they lost. They’ll be accessing what no one has ever had. Intact biology becomes the limitation. Every human who has ever lived has seen the same narrow fraction of what actually exists. Same wavelengths. Same resolution. Same biological ceiling for 300,000 years. Everything humanity has ever built, discovered, or understood, we did while perceiving less than one percent of what’s actually there. We called that vision. It was just enough not to die. You’ve never seen the world. You’ve seen your body’s opinion of it. Neuralink doesn’t improve that system. It replaces it. Two people will stand in the same room. One with biological eyes. One with Neuralink. They won’t be looking at the same reality. The blind won’t just see again. They’ll see more than anyone reading this. And for the first time in 300,000 years, the rest of us will know exactly how little we’ve been seeing.

@volcaholic1 I read through the whole thing and didn't see a solution, only complaints. Yes, there have always been climate change since the beginning of this planet. It has been hotter and it's been colder. Species have adapted to where we are at today. In my opinion, we will adapt again.

Every time I mention climate change in a post about catastrophic flooding or wildfires, the replies are flooded with the same insults, conspiracy theories and outright denial. "Moron." "Fucking idiot." "Dickhead." "Retarded." "Shut up." "Fuck off." Then come the excuses: "It's a flood plain." "It's just weather." "It's weather warfare." "It's cloud seeding." "It's arson." "It's geoengineering." "It's HAARP." "It's solar cycles." "It's the Hunga Tonga eruption." "It's God's punishment." "It's the end times." "It's poor infrastructure." "Floods have always happened." It's so predictable and boring. They're losing! Anything. Absolutely anything. As long as it avoids the one explanation supported by decades of scientific evidence. Nobody is claiming climate change invented floods, wildfires or storms. These events have always existed. What scientists are saying is that a warming climate is making many of them more frequent, more intense and more destructive. That is not a conspiracy theory. It is not a political opinion. It is established physics. Yet some people would rather believe in secret weather weapons, aircraft spraying chemicals, magnetic pole shifts, or ancient biblical prophecies than listen to the overwhelming scientific evidence. You can deny the science, attack the messenger and repeat the same conspiracy theories, but you cannot argue with reality. The floodwaters will keep rising. The wildfires will keep burning.

Elon Musk told you to stop saving for retirement. Every person who profits when you save rushed to tell you he’s wrong. Musk: “Don’t worry about squirreling money away for retirement in 10 or 20 years. It won’t matter.” The people who called this reckless have one thing in common. Their income depends on scarcity being permanent. Their product isn’t financial planning. It’s your belief that the future will be expensive. This isn’t theoretical. The US government just pulled a frontier AI model off the market overnight. No published threshold. No formal process. Millions of users cut off without warning. That wasn’t safety. That was self-preservation dressed as regulation. Musk: “If any of the things that we’ve said are true, saving for retirement will be irrelevant.” AI and robotics collapse labor costs toward zero. Everything priced on human labor reprices with it. Housing. Healthcare. Goods. Services. The math doesn’t need your permission. Scarcity was never a law of nature. It was a phase. And we built every major institution on the assumption it would last forever. Banks exist because resources are scarce. Insurance exists because risk is expensive. Retirement exists because your future costs money. Remove scarcity and none of them have a product. The establishment isn’t afraid AI will fail. They’re afraid it works. Because abundance doesn’t disrupt an industry. It dissolves the condition every institution was built to manage. AI surpasses combined human intelligence by 2030. Humanoid robots outnumber humans after that. You can recall a model overnight. You can’t recall the physics that created it. The question was never whether abundance arrives. It was always who loses power when it does. They just showed you the answer.

@suresh_manian I grew up Christian. Then I was convinced that the Abrahamic religions borrowed from previous civilizations, which then I became atheist. After experiencing something paranormal and personal, I became an agnostic idealist. I haven't studied Hindu enough to give an opinion.

I was raised Hindu, but somehow chose an agnostic stance on religion for most of my life. I then went on to study physics in college. Somehow this brought me back to Hinduism… I am constantly shocked by how much this religion is based in science and the cosmos. Equally shocked by how blinded I was to this religion while growing up. My conclusion now is I’m really not sure what’s going on. But something is going on and that fascinates me. Who else has migrated their religious beliefs over the years? All religions and beliefs welcome* Racist comments will be met with a persistent kindness that will cause your reality to crumble*
