7 years ago, a high school student in Kansas had his cheek swabbed at a bone marrow donor drive after his teacher told the class she had once saved a stranger’s life by donating. He figured they would never call. Months later they did. He was a perfect match for a 10-year-old girl with a disease so rare only 15 other children in the world had it. He went through surgery not knowing her name. Ten months later he found out it was Laila Anderson, the girl who had become famous for inspiring her favourite hockey team during their championship run while fighting for her own life. Before they met, she wrote him a letter and signed it, “Your best friend, whether you like it or not.” When they finally met, he ran across the room and held her. She told him, “I don’t care if we go to dinner or go to Disney World, I just want to spend time with you.”

This will go down as the most heart wrenching clip of the year. Johnny Gaudreau gets to look down from heaven and see his kids celebrate a gold medal w/ Team USA and his parents soak it in from the stands. That hockey brotherhood is special 🙏🏼

THE WOMEN OF TEAM USA DOMINATED THE PODIUM 😤 They finished with more gold medals and total medals than the men for a SIXTH straight Olympics 🥇🇺🇸

I’m no louisville fan but i will say this. The man he is talking about in the video is non other than my other than my Uncle John who is fighting cancer and is one of the biggest louisville fans that i know! Class act from Pat Kelsey…Thank you deep down❤️
