If you’re looking for a pair of 2024s who are poised to breakout next season, 6-4 Mt Carmel SG Jimmy Milder and 5-9 PG Gianni Bernabe fit the bill. Milder is an excellent shooter with length and improving as a ball handler. Bernabe is a crafty PG who can score it from 3 levels.

FINAL: CIF Division 2 Championship: (4) Mt Carmel 77, (2) Otay Ranch 61. The Sundevils used a 3-point barrage in the 2nd half to put the Mustangs away, led by 2022 PG Jaden Matusalem’s 18-point effort. 2024 Mustangs W Percy Whittaker had 23 to lead all scorers.

Mt Carmel pulls off the stunner: The Sundevils defeat top-seeded Montgomery 68-67 to advance to the CIF Division 2 championship against Otay Ranch.

The new trend in AAU club 🏀: Don’t develop your own players and get them to next level. Just ask the good players from other clubs to play with your club in a few trns so you can take credit when they get to the next level.

Congratulations Mt Carmel Sundevils Fall Classic Blue Division Champs and Jaden Matusalem Blue Division MVP

With that said, Mt Carmel leads Olympian 52-34 at half. We don’t talk enough about 2022 Sundevils G Jaden Matusalem. He’s as dynamic a scoring/playmaking guard as you’ll see in SD this year. And an underrated aspect of his game: he rarely turns it over.
