It was a pleasure to attend the 31st annual Hunter’s Ball & Big Buck Contest in #Cornwall and connect with members of our local outdoor and hunting community. Events like this are a great reminder of the strong outdoor traditions of #SDG and how lucky we are to be surrounded by the forests, waterways, and natural beauty that make our region so special. Thank you to John Lock and his team at Fence Depot for once again putting on such a well-organized event that continues to bring our community together year after year.

It was great meeting with the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus at Queen’s Park to discuss how we can continue strengthening #SDG and all of Eastern Ontario. Strong collaboration between all levels of government is key to our region’s success, and I thank the EOWC for their continued partnership as we work together to build a prosperous future for our communities.

Yesterday, @TeamKerzner unveiled our government’s $3 billion plan to add more than 2,500 adult correctional beds across Ontario.   This expansion will support the hiring of 700+ new correctional staff and help to ensure violent offenders stay off our streets and behind bars where they belong.   Learn more: news.ontario.ca/en/release/100…

It’s National Nursing Week and today we’re highlighting the next generation of nurses helping shape the future of health care in southeastern Ontario. Meet Emily John — a nurse at KHSC and a recipient of the Ontario Learn and Stay Grant. Through the program, Emily was able to pursue her nursing education at Queen's University while committing to build her career right here in the community she now serves every day. Programs like the Ontario Learn and Stay Grant are helping strengthen the future of health care by supporting students by reducing financial barriers by covering the cost of things like tuition and books, and encouraging more nurses to train and stay in the regions that need them most. At KHSC, we see firsthand the difference nurses like Emily make for patients, families, and communities across our region. Thinking about a career in nursing? Learn how the Ontario Learn and Stay Grant can support your education and future career in health care: ontario.ca/page/ontario-l… #NursingWeek #myKHSC #Nursing #Healthcare #onhealth @SylviaJonesMPP @ONThealth @nolanmquinn @ONtrainandstudy

From maritime innovation to green technology, we are protecting the industries that drive our economy now and into the future. It was great meeting with Nuna Veritas to discuss how we're protecting made-in-ontario innovation, strengthening the commercialization of homegrown research and bringing home more high-paying jobs and rewarding careers.

Had a great conversation with @zach_mcgibbon about our $4.4 million investment into @fntinews, expanding access to rewarding, in-demand careers while strengthening the aviation workforce northern and remote communities rely on. This builds on our record-setting $57 million investment in Indigenous-led education and will support the rebuild of their hangar and the delivery of their first-of-its-kind aviation program! National Nursing Week is a chance for us all to thank our incredible nurses for the compassionate care and support they provide every day. Since 2018, we’ve helped an historic 100,000 nurses join our province’s workforce. Thirty thousand more are currently studying at Ontario schools, many of them supported by our Learn and Stay Grant, which covers tuition for nurses who stay and work in underserved parts of the province. Happy National Nursing Week!

Wonderful to celebrate the 50th business anniversary of Lloyd McMillan Equipment in #Iroquois! 🎉 What started in 1976 with 1 employee and 3 pieces of heavy equipment has grown over the years into a well-recognized business in #SouthDundas that has a fleet ten times its original size. Congratulations to Lloyd, his family, and their team on reaching this incredible milestone. Wishing them many more years of continued success in our community!

Yesterday, #Bill101 received Royal Assent. That means future teachers can complete their education through a streamlined 1-year program focused on real classroom experience, saving students up to $3,000. We're breaking down barriers and building a robust teaching workforce that gives our kids the best possible start to their education.

Ontario has built a world-class nuclear track record — and @McMasterU is helping lead the way. From life-saving medical isotopes to a new undergraduate degree in nuclear engineering, McMaster is training the next generation of skilled professionals. Appreciate the collaboration with @nolanmquinn in building talent, driving innovation, and ensuring Ontario has the workforce needed to lead North America’s largest nuclear expansion.
