JBR Bracketology - Seed List Friday 2/7. -15 JBR 🔒 in purple! -Texas Tech and Arizona continue their respective meteoric rises up the seed list, as the two will rematch Saturday in Tucson. Winner will inch closer to the 2 line! -St. John's finally picks up a marquee win Tues vs Marquette. A second marquee win @ UConn on Friday and Red Storm will be a 3/4 seed and a JBR 🔒 -Michigan, Ole Miss and UCLA all pick up quality wins this week to cement themselves along the 5 line. UCLA now T-4th nationally with four Quad 1A wins -Memphis continues their weekly song and dance of winning and not covering. Will be interesting to see what if anything the 2/15 committee reveal tells us about the Tigers -Oregon and Illinois fall to back end of 6 line after continued poor play. Ducks have the resume advantage with eight Quad 1 wins, while Illinois buoyed by Top 15 predictive metrics -Creighton continues to impress, now 2nd place in Big East + the non conference win over Kansas. A win Saturday vs Marquette, and I would expect the Jays to be a 6 seed. One of the better coaching jobs in the country flying under the radar in Omaha -Saint Mary's falls to 8 line after losing their first WCC game of the season -Clemson falls 6 spots from #25 to #31 after the home Georgia Tech loss. Tigers with a golden opportunity to bounce back Saturday vs Duke, otherwise looking at a 9 seed -New Mexico! How about those 1st place Lobos? Resume looks fantastic as UCLA continues to climb the seed list; Lobos beat the Bruins back in early November -Ohio State moves up to the 9 line with the Quad 1 home win last night over Maryland. Buckeyes resume looking strong; predictive metrics continuing to climb as well, now #25 in both NET and KenPom -Gonzaga has excellent predictive metrics, two decent wins over Baylor and @ San Diego State, and not much else. Hard to get them much higher than a 9/10 seed without any real substance to back up the predictives -Nebrasketball up to the 10 line following their Pacific NW road sweep of Oregon and Washington. Even though Huskers are only one "spot" ahead of where they were in Monday's update, Nebraska has significantly more breathing room from the cut line than they did earlier in the week -Drake has the better at-large chance than UC Irvine. Thinking both teams can overcome one more regular season loss, but I fear two more losses + a conference tournament loss would be too much -3 SEC teams in the Last Four In (four on the 11 line) is wild to see. Going to come down to who can find a way to win enough games -- and no, SEC isn't going to get 14 teams in. I think it was the case in previous years that we had to really rely on our production of talent, I.e Pearson era. However, there’s a stronger core of experienced players now, especially in the def.
