How about I tell you what a community-based team looks like? These teams represent public schools who serve children -- athletes & non-athletes --that reside within certain boundaries. Do these public schools sometimes accept SOC students from outside the district? Absolutely. But they don't make up 100% of the student body like you find at a private school. Understand?

It's almost that time again when "club" 🏀 teams take advantage of the MHSAA's antiquated classification system and begin collecting fraudulent state tournament victories & hardware. But imagine if Michigan actually had a competitive balance plan -- one that either elevated some of these private all-star teams to higher divisions or separated them from the community-based teams altogether? Why this hasn't happened already is beyond comprehension… #ClubVsCommunity

@FromTheSeidline @freshdonut20 Provide a list of these school "club teams." Would a team of students who have been enrolled at that school since kindergarten be considered a "club team"?

@freshdonut20 Many charter schools, especially in basketball, are nothing but club teams just like some private schools. They should be included in any legitimate competitive balance plan as well.
