The thing about the #fawltytowers episode with the Germans is that we’re not laughing at them, we’re laughing at Basil. It is ridiculing prejudice, not glorifying it, and in so doing exposing the narrow-minded bigotry of the thing. It should be required viewing, not banned.

Your ancestors certainly suffered but you've benefitted from their suffering. Instead of living here - with decent facilities, reasonable standard of living you could be in a sad West African land, poor, no clean water or reliable power. Maybe you are enjoying reparations now.
