@MarkSailes3 SQS - Lambda will generate some cost by pulling queue - even nothing is happening.
Overall tho serverless is pretty much a free technology :)
I'm planning to watch some classic ~80s movies. So far I've got
- Grease
- Footloose
- Dirty Dancing
- Top Gun
- Ferris Beullers Day Off
- Mannequin
What are some other eighties (ish) classics?
Started a new role as Specialist Solutions Architect for Databases at AWS today. Except I didn’t...instead today, I started a new battle in hospital against organ rejection #NeedMyLungsToWork#NotSoResilient
@ric__harvey Business wise, it is a sound idea. Triple your opportunities! But I worry it spreads any person too thin and they become an expert in none.
The UK used to have more electric vehicles than anywhere else in the world:
A fleet delivering local, organic produce on a next-day/subscription model, with payment after delivery, zero single-use plastics, and daily recycling pickups.
Upwork for AWS Certified experts? Yes, please! #AWSIQ coming soon - connecting customers with #AWS partners and Certified experts for advice and hands-on projects.
I think I may be late to the party, but I have just spun up my first #awscloud Cloud9 instance, and the implications for how this could make development in managed/secure environments much easier has hit home.
Is anyone in my network leveraging Cloud9 in…lnkd.in/gDdwQ38
@ric__harvey@abbyfuller@clare_liguori i think the challenge would be the non-critical service might have to scale down before the critical increase into the released capacity. I think a scheduled lambda would manage be able to manage this scaling up/down.

Need a speaker for a tech talk or assistance with an AWS project, please do get in touch.
Can anyone recommend a tool for programming presentation slides? YAML / JSON / something else. I don't really care. Ideally simpler than LaTeX though....
